Fleming’s series of Substantive Law Solutions are designed to assist you to prepare for final examinations. The first step in preparing for final examinations is learning the rules of law. The second step is developing analytical skills in the context of essay and multiple choice examinations. One without the other will not bring success.
Each Substantive Law Solution subject is approximately four to five hours in length and begins with an in-depth lecture on the substantive law tested in the subject area. This lecture is followed by an explanation and demonstration on how to combine the rules of law with proper legal and factual application in the context of an essay or multiple choice examinations. The common theme that crosses over into every Fleming’s course is the application of the substantive law to hypothetical examination facts, an essential technique for success on every law school examination.
Each Substantive Law Solution course gives you the opportunity to implement the techniques presented in the course write by submitting an assigned essay answer for personal evaluation and CD feedback from our attorney readers.
What The Substantive Law Solutions Will Provide For You
- Provide 3½-4 hour review of the subject substantive law with a corresponding substantive law outline;
- Provide approaches, checklists and mnemonics for memory retention in each subject area;
- Provide one hour instruction on issue spotting, application and writing techniques in the subject area;
- Provide three hypothetical essays, two of which are analyzed in class with a sample written model answer for the 3rd hypo; and,
- Provide each student with the opportunity to write and submit an essay writing sample for CD critique by our attorney readers

- For Each Exam Solution title, the corresponding substantive law outline may be purchased separately without the companion CD audio lecture. The substantive outline will include three hypothetical essays with one sample written model answer. However, the purchaser will not receive the CD audio lecture or be given the opportunity to write and submit a writing sample for critique.
